Life in Blacksburg

A flower vendor at the Blacksburg Farmer's Market
Virginia's largest town has gracefully outgrown its "sleepy little" moniker. Yet in the face of its ongoing evolution, Blacksburg always manages to retain its charm — and excitement — in spades. In other words, life in this classic college town just keeps getting better.

One of the greatest advantages of living on campus is meeting new people.

At Virginia Tech, you will be part of the 8,900+ member community that calls our residence halls home. And nobody provides housing closer to campus than we do!

Moving off campus offers greater access to town facilities, more opportunities to use personal transportation, and a greater sense of self-reliance.

Alumni Mall

The gateway at the Alumni Mall entrance to campus is marked with two large curved walls of Hokie Stone.

The structure leads to the archway of Torgersen Hall, which frames a view of the War Memorial Pylons at the end of the Drillfield.
